Dimethicone.

Definition

What it means.

A silicone-based polymer commonly used in lip balms, lotions, and cosmetics. It creates a smooth, silky texture and provides an occlusive barrier. While generally considered safe, dimethicone is a synthetic ingredient that some clean-beauty consumers prefer to avoid.
