Rich in medium-chain fatty acids, particularly lauric acid, it penetrates the skin quickly to deliver deep hydration at a cellular level. Unlike petroleum-based moisturizers that sit on the surface, coconut oil is absorbed into the lip tissue, nourishing from within. It also has natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal for protecting delicate lip skin from environmental stressors.

Is coconut oil safe for lips?

Yes. Coconut oil is one of the safest and most effective natural moisturizers for lips. It is non-toxic, food-grade, and has been used in skincare for centuries across tropical cultures.

Can coconut oil clog pores around the lips?

Coconut oil is mildly comedogenic on facial skin, but lips do not have pores or oil glands, so clogging is not a concern for lip application. The skin surrounding the lips is also minimally affected when applied carefully.

Why does Numbrrrz use coconut oil instead of shea butter?

Coconut oil penetrates faster than shea butter and has a lighter feel. It also has antimicrobial properties that shea butter lacks. Our goal is rapid, deep hydration without a heavy or waxy feel.
